Production skills of FRP grating plate

There are three main types of FRP production processes: reciprocating fiber winding process, continuous fiber winding process and centrifugal casting process.

1. Reciprocating fiber winding process (which belongs to the fixed-length method): In this process, the dipping tank reciprocates with the rotating core mold, and the long fiber glass filaments are placed at a certain oblique angle relative to the axis of the core mold. The auxiliary angle (i.e. winding angle) is controlled by the ratio of the moving speed of the dipping tank to the rotating speed of the core mold, and the translational movement of the dipping tank is controlled by computerized mechatronics. The number of winding layers gradually increases until the designed wall thickness is reached. After winding, the resin in the product is basically cured. After curing, the core mold is removed from the glass steel tube. After curing, the core mold is removed from the glass steel tube.

II. Continuous fiber winding process (belonging to the continuous method): This process is that the pipe passes through a feeding station which supplies resin pre-impregnated roving, chopped glass fiber and resin sand mixture, and the pipe is made in the continuous progress of the core mold.

3. Centrifugal casting process (which belongs to the fixed-length method): In this process, the cut glass fiber reinforced material and sand are fed into the steel mold fixed on the bearing, and the unsaturated resin with catalyst is injected into one end of the steel mold to impregnate the reinforced material. Under the action of centrifugal force, the resin displaces the air in the fiber and filler, thus manufacturing a dense composite material without pores. Due to the centrifugal force, the inner wall of the pipe forms a smooth and smooth inner surface layer rich in resin. The pipe made by this method is also called FRP sand pipe.

At present, there are many more manufacturers in the world who use reciprocating fiber winding process to make pipes than the other two kinds of production processes. One of the reasons is that the FRP pipes manufactured by reciprocating fiber winding process have wider applications and better applicability.
